File Inspector

Two questions about any file: is it safe to open, and what does it give away about you before you send it? Read on your device — never uploaded, opened or run.

Files to inspect

Drop up to 10 files, 50.0 MB each — an attachment you’re unsure of, or a document or photo you’re about to send.

Drop files here, or choose themRead in this browser tab. Never uploaded, opened or run.

Your files stay on this device: they are read here, never uploaded, and only the results are kept until you leave or discard them. This is not a virus scan.

Drop a file, or load an example.

Whether it’s dangerous: its real type (a “PDF” that is really a web page), macros, scripts, programs inside archives, disk images, PDFs that run code.
What it reveals about you: a photo’s GPS position and camera, a document’s author, company, comments, tracked changes and hidden sheets.
How to clean it before you send it, and a fingerprint to look up elsewhere.

Nothing is uploaded.
